Chief Election Commissioner
Abdul Rashid Sulehria graduated from Punjab University Lahore and graduated in Law from Islamia Law College Karachi. He joined Central Bar Association Muzaffarabad in 1982 as an Advocate. He was appointed as Sub Judge in AJK Judiciary in 1987. Mr. Sulehria Joined Sharia Academy in 1989 for Sharia training. Got promoted as Additional District and Sessions Judge in 2001. Later on was promoted as District and Sessions Judge in May 2003. After that he served as Chairman Income Tax Appellate Tribunal AJK from 2007 to 2009. Thereafter he was elevated as Judge Shariat Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman Environmental Tribunal. Mr. A.R. Sulehria was elevated as Judge High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in 2013 and got retirement as Judge High Court in 2014. Joined AJK Election Commission as Senior Member on 02/10/2018. Took oath as Chief Election Commissioner on 14/01/2020.
Raja Muhammad Farooq Niaz graduated in Law from University of Punjab Lahore and joined Muzaffarabad bar for a short period. Joined Civil Services Academy Lahore in Fourth Common Training Programme. After training served as Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner (Mirpur and Muzaffarabad Districts), Deputy Secretary, Additional Secretary, Commissioner Mirpur Division, Secretary to Government (various departments), Senior Member Board of Revenue (BS-21), Additional Chief Secretary (Gen.) and Chairman PM Inspection and Implementation Commission (BS-22). During service went to University of Manchester (UK) for Post Graduate Diploma in Economic and Social Studies and Harvard University (USA) for Executive Leadership Development Programme. Have been to all the leading in service training institutions like Civil Services Academy Lahore, Pakistan Academy for Rural Development Peshawar, NIPA Lahore and Pakistan Administrative Staff College Lahore.
